It was a Netflix weekend

"Gone Baby Gone"
Casey Afleck is about to bust out as the next big thing! Based on a book by the same author as "Mystic River," GBG forces you to make some tough decisions about what you would do in the same situation. The answers aren't easy because what seems "right" may not line up with the law.

Great cast, great performances.

"Across the Universe"
1960's unrest set to Beatle's music-- not exactly surprising, but still entertaining. Thinly veiled comparison to modern issues in Iraq urging the people to rise up and start a revolution against a government which continues to stubbornly "stay the course" in an unpopular war. Clearly set during the Vietnam era, but with just enough modernization in hair and costume to remind us that this COULD be today. Well crafted movie, even if the historical comparison was a little (a lot?) heavy-handed. Loved the innovative choreography and the trippy visuals.

"Undertaking Betty"

How did I miss this one in the theaters? Brenda Blethyn is always brilliant, but who knew that Christopher Walken as an undertaker that wants to put some pizazz in the form of song-and-dance into the art of funerals would be so entertaining?!
Silly little plot but great playful script and sassy performances.

I hit big with three total winners all at once-- I'd definitely recommend all of these if you're looking for something to add to your queue. :)

See anyone you recognize?

This photo appeared in a recent article about independant book stores. It's from the Rosie booksigning last October.

Open Heart 3

It's been a while since I included the link to the posting that tells the original story about why I post all the "found hearts" photos, so here it is again.

Finally, a Tony!

A thrilling cap to an amazing week in Phoenix working on a documentary film shoot with Ann Reinking. I couldn't resist asking her if I could hold her Tony. She graciously indulged my silliness with a giggle. More on the weekend later...

St. Patty's Day Heart

It's hard to tell from this photo, but this heart is bright kelly green-- a perfect holiday greeting from Mom.

Breathtaking Beauty

This one is all the still photos I took made into another movie. I'm obsessing on the video blog thing at the moment. I LOVE it.

Again, thanks to my family for getting me the Flip Ultra for my birthday in January!

Scratch it!

Angie the poolside cocktail waitress turned me on to this drink. It's called and Itch.

And WOW, have I been scratching!

Business ended yesterday, and I have been soaking up the sun.
